Sawyer Rosenstein

Sawyer is a reporter with NASASpaceflight and was formerly a news producer at WCTV in Tallahassee, as well as a flight director running simulated space missions at the Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee. He has been with the organization for 11 years, including 8 of them at the Town of Ramapo Challenger Center. Sawyer directs simulated space missions to the moon and Mars, and to rendezvous with a comet. Along the way, he aids people from ages 6-106 and teaches them how interesting space is, while focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education for the participating students. Sawyer participated in the first Astro Access microgravity mission and is also a consultant for the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space, including a project involving images taken during Scott Kelly’s “Year in Space”. He was also a consultant for the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum in New York City for 6 years. As well, Sawyer has interned with the communications office at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. Sawyer graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Education. Sawyer has found a large enthusiasm towards manned spaceflight missions past and present, including the Space Shuttle and Apollo programs.
